Why honesty, truly is the best policy.

Last week I shared a really personal experience on LinkedIn. I didn't expect over 30,000 to see it. And, I didn’t really expect to get any work from it, I kind of just needed to get it out of my head.

Having said that, I’ve had a number of people reach out since, and even some work came my way as a result of it. We’re in a cost of living crisis, there is SO much going on in the world right now, people are struggling and, whatever your circumstances are, it isn’t nice to think you’re alone in it.

Many people think LinkedIn is a highly corporate, stuffy place (until recently, me included). But, maybe, it is more supportive and more of a personal connection tool than a professional one as we like to think of it.

Once again I’m writing this blog with no real aim or plan of where I’m going…because AI doesn’t live here! I suppose my point is, if there is one…and I’m really searching for it here…maybe honesty is the best policy, in life and business.

I’ve got clients who have become friends, who I’ll happily go meet for lunch or coffee not because we have a project to talk about, but because I genuinely like them as a person (and I hope they feel the same!). There is a point coming…honestly.

So, the point. People buy from people. And you can’t tell me otherwise. If you are struggling, tell someone, tell your industry, share your concerns and feelings and maybe, just maybe, someone who can help will get in touch.
